• Condition - Fair. Extensive browning, age-toning and some staining. Laid down on cloth, with red linen edging, but tear along one of the lower  centre folds. Extensively annotated in pencil with names and sizes of plots. Contemporary hand colour. A scarce item

Scarce 19th Century Estate Map.

An attractive large estate map of the townland of Gurteen, located close to the Limerick-Cork county borders. Compiled by James Begley of Charleville on a scale of 328 feet to one inch.

Manuscript title cartouche top right and a reference box running down the right hand side holding numbered list of tenants and total areas of each holding in acres, roods, perches etc.

Roads to Feenagh, Castletown and Charleville clearly marked, as are bordering townlands of Kilmurry, Rosmore, Cluneacrippi (Cloncrippa) and Croughteen. Interesting and collectable piece of local history. Scarce item!
