  • Cartographer -  By Peter Fannin (Master of the Navy)

  • Size - 380mm x 250mm
  • Condition - A little age-toning overall, otherwise very good. Strong Impresion. Later handcolour.

An interesting townplan of Wexford, dated 1800, although actually published in 1802. From the 'Memoirs of the Different Rebellions in Ireland, From the Arrival of the English:' by Sir Richard Musgrave, otherwise known as Musgrave's Rebellions.

The book, printed in Dublin, bears the subtitle, 'Also a Particular detail of that Which broke out the XXIIID of May, MDCCXCVIII; With the History of the Conspiracy Which Preceded It'. Making the book an invaluable source on 1798.

This particular map also bears a reference to the houses destroyed by the rebels in June 1798, in Wexford Town.

A lovely map, in good condition and a nice memento of 1798. Not often found in colour.
