Original Handcoloured Townplan of Cavan by Thomas Larcom 1837

SCARCE THOMAS LARCOM PLATES - 1837

This is an original town plan created by the famous Lt. Thomas Larcom, for the Municipal Boundaries Commission in 1837. Larcom was the main force behind the biggest ever and most detailed all-Ireland survey by the Ordinance Survey during the 1830's and 40's.

These plates were all individually hand coloured and come with a page, or in some cases, a couple of pages of charming descriptive text. Details include such information as ancient town limits, proposed limits, population, industrial output - commerce and trade, general description of town, etc.

All the maps are individually handcoloured in outline and all are signed by Larcom. They look wonderful when framed side by side with descriptive pages.

Each of these townplans are individually priced according to scarcity and relative desirability.

These maps provide priceless information to the local historian, collector and enthusiast.  Very Collectable!

Attractive and charming, a good addition to any collection.
