Two sided Road Map by Taylor & Skinner, 1778.
This original map, (pgs 137 & 138), from "Taylor and Skinner's Maps of the Roads of Ireland", displays the roads through Kilkenny to to Castlecomer and Ballyragget, anf from Dublin through Tallaght to Blessington and Ballymore Eustace.
Towns covered include Dublin, Kilkenny, Castlecomer, Ballyragget, Blessington, Ballymore Eustace, Tallaght, Rathfarnham.
The local landowners, large estates and the aristocracy of each area are named on each map. Seemingly, mention by the authors of these various upstanding individuals helped fund the production of the atlas.
Interesting, decorative and charming maps when framed, especially when double glazed to make both sides visible.
Lovely piece of social history.
