Two sided Road Map by Taylor & Skinner, 1778.
This original map, (pgs 133 & 134), from "Taylor and Skinner's Maps of the Roads of Ireland", displays the roads through south Kilkenny through Carlow and into New Ross.
Towns covered include New Ross, Gowran, Carlow, Old Leighlin, Graigenamanagh, "Bally=Burris", St.Mullins, with a large hatched representation of Brandon Hill.
The local landowners, large estates and the aristocracy of each area are named on each map. Seemingly, mention by the authors of these various upstanding individuals helped fund the production of the atlas.
Interesting, decorative and charming maps when framed, especially when double glazed to make both sides of the sheet visible.
Lovely piece of social history.
