Fine Chart of the Magellan Straits by Bellin

This beautiful and important original map of the Magellin Straits is extremely detailed and is a great example of Bellin's mastery at presenting important information in both an attractive and functional manner. His large cartouche gives details in both French and Dutch, and has a reference, A to I to help readers identify locations on the map.

Interesting to note that Tierra del Fuego has a direct translation into French as Terre de Feu!!
