Scarce Copy of Important Statistical Survey of Co. Kilkenny

Detailed statistical report on County Kilkenny at the turn of the 19th century by William Tighe for the Dublin Society. Extending to over 650 pages, with tables, maps, in-text illustrations and plates, it presents a clear picture of the state of everything from agriculture to archeology in early 19th century County Kilkenny, and indeed Ireland as a whole.

Also squeezed in are nearly 120 pages of appendices relating to the extension of the canal system from Monasterevan to the collieries in Castlecomer; and a special report by engineer William Chapman, 'on The Practicability and Expense of Making a Navigable Canal from Thomastown to Kilkenny.' Folding maps and detailed costings are all included.
