Collector's Lot of Four 19th Century Maps of Dublin

This is a lot of four separate maps of the Environs of Dublin, which were produced by various publishers over a 40 year period. They are all around the same size, and are all coloured. The paper stock varies. The weekly dispatch maps were usually printed on light stock, the others are on heavy card.

Edward Weller (d.1884) was a London based cartographer and engraver. His best known work appears in Cassell’s Weekly Dispatch Atlas, which was published in monthly sections for subscribers of the “Weekly Dispatch” newspaper. The collection eventually grew to include maps from all 'corners' of the of the globe. Published in various editions from 1855 through the early 1880s.

For the purchaser of this lot it will be interesting to note the changes between the maps. Some of the changes are minute, such as a change of name, others are quite major, such as the addition of a railway or road.

All the maps have wide margins, so all would be suitable for framing. An attractive set!
