The Casino at Marino, Dublin is considered by many to be one of the finest 18th century neo-classical buildings in Europe. Designed by Scottish Architect, Sir William Chambers as a pleasure house for the 1st Earl of Charlemont, James Caulfield. Construction began in the late 1750s and finished around 1775. The name 'Casino Marino' is derived from the Italian language and literally translates as 'The small house by the small sea'. It surprisingly contains 16 finely decorated rooms.
