A map is a drawn or printed representation of something. Most of the maps that we sell here at oldirishmaps.com would be strictly defined as 'scaled representations of features on earth drawn or printed on a flat surface'. But maps come in many different shapes, themes and forms, depending on the topic and what they are representing.

A thematic map is a map designed to provide information on a single topic, such as population, rainfall, etc.
