Paris based family publishing business which engraved and sold a wide variety of maps. Convicted of plagiarism when he wrongfully used the titles 'Engraver to the King' and 'Geographer to the Duke of Orleans' after a complaint by Guillaume Delisle, nonetheless, his business continued to flourish.
Many of his maps were based on the beautiful work of Vincenzo Coronelli, the Venetian Franciscan monk and cartographer.
